Announcement
To Our Parishioners
In November, when I made the announcement of my departure, the transition plan called for Fr. Antony to become temporary administrator until a new pastor would be named in June. Recently, Fr. Antony received word that his superiors have recalled him back to his province in India to become a Provincial Superior. Unfortunately, he is to begin this new assignment in mid-January.
Due to this unexpected early departure of Fr. Antony, the Archbishop has moved up the process of naming a new permanent pastor for Holy Disciples Parish. The new pastor will be announced the weekend of January 10/11. The earlier assignment of a pastor will be a great benefit to Holy Disciples Parish since there will be less interruption in the ongoing work of the parish. In the meantime, Fr. Antony will be serving at Holy Disciples Parish through January 18th. I will continue to attend to the parish business needs until the new pastor arrives.
I am so very grateful to Fr. Antony for his service to our parish over this past year and a half. In his short time here, he made a tremendous impact on the spiritual journey of our parishioners through his homilies, pastoral work and his very popular bible study courses. Please pray for Fr. Antony’s transition back to his home country of India and his new role as provincial superior and join me in thanking him for his ministry to our parish.
Fr. Anthony J. Smith
